Arts Educational Schools
Louise Gold attended the Arts Educational School (London
Branch), from the age of eleven initially of course in the ‘Pupils Department’. Her last two years there were as a student in
the ‘Drama Department’. Initially the school
was then at 144-145 Piccadilly, it then moved to Golden Lane in the Barbican
area. Where it made use of The Golden Lane Theatre. It has since moved elsewhere.
Your
webmaster has no information as to whether Ms Gold appeared in any of Arts Educational’s
productions, however, it seems highly likely that she
would have acted in some of them, particularly during her final year.
It is known
that during Ms Gold’s final year at Arts Ed, the Drama Department’s productions

Billy Liar by Keith Waterhouse, and, Willis
Hall, performed on 10, 11 & 12 June 1974
The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie by Jay Presson Allen from the novel by Muriel Spark, performed on 8, 9 &
10 July 1974.
It does not
seem to be known whether Ms Gold appeared in any of these productions.

During her
last year at school, she appeared in Dick Whittington at the Malvern Festival Theatre; a theatre
which at that time had some history of employing Arts Ed students on their first jobs.
